Venezuela is a unique land with a rich cultural heritage and stunning scenery. It offers the visitors incredible beauty of waterfalls, snow-capped Andes, and tropical forests, as well as mystical places and rich traditions. Here is the list of the most iconic world-famous natural wonders in Venezuela. These awe-inspiring places are all about stunning landscapes. Add them to your bucket list if you are a nature lover.

The Canaima National Park & Angel Falls & Mountain Roraima

The 30000-square-kilometer Canaima National Park, as well as Angel Falls, is one of the main attractions of Venezuela. Nestled in the middle of the Amazon forest in the southeast of Venezuela, Canaima National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a home for diverse wildlife, including Capybaras, jaguars, sloths, and monkeys, and a must-visit destination for wildlife enthusiasts and bird watchers. You will find in Canaima National Park fascinating hiking and trekking trails and scenic viewpoints you’ve never seen before.

The gem of the Canaima is the 979-meter-tall Angel Waterfalls. It has a drop of 807 meters. This magnificent waterfall cascades down the Auyán-tepui mountain. It is the world’s highest uninterrupted waterfall that is surrounded by a dense rainforest. The Indians once considered this mountain very mystical and were afraid to climb to its top. They believed that  a spirit in human form lived there. That’s why it isn’t the easiest place to get to. For the same reason, they hid the waterfall from visitors.

Only in 1935 a pilot suddenly discovered this natural gem. However, even if adventures aren’t your passion and you’d rather stay at home and gamble at https://ivibet.com/casino, the beauty of this place will captivate you. Another popular destination in the Canaima National Park is Mount Roraima. It is the two billion old flat-topped mountain on the Venezuela-Brazil-Guyana border. Mount Roraima belongs to the Pakaraima mountain range. People also call standing at 2,772 meters above sea level Mount Roraima “The Floating Island”. The local indigenous Pemón people call such flat-topped mountains as Roraima “tepuis” or “Houses of the Gods”.

According to a Pemón legend, this mountain was once a large tree that gave people fruits and vegetables. The mythical hero Macunaima wanted to get to the top of the tree to get more fruits. To cut down the tree, Makunaima called upon the gods. Then the tree yielded to him, but Makunaima caused a worldwide sweat. Home to rare animal and plant species, Roraima tepui is a magnificent wildlife area. It was the inspiration for Arthur Conan Doyle’s “The Lost World”. Sheer cliffs of the tepui float in the sky at about 400 meters and look surreal. By the way, after this experience, you can visit the nearby town of Canaima, as well as the canyon Cueva Kavac, and waterfalls Sapito and Hacha.

    The Morrocoy National Park

The Morrocoy National Park extends to more than 30 hectares of natural beauty along the Caribbean Sea. It is made up of several islands, including Cayo Sal, Cayo Muerto, and Cayo Sombrero. Most of the park’s territory is covered by evergreen mangrove forests that surround the clean beaches and are home to many animals. Here you can see flamingos and pelicans strolling along the coast. And since Morrocoy has coral reefs, it is a great place to scuba dive and snorkel. To fully relax in the calm Morrocoy atmosphere, visit the Cayo Sombrero. This small island near Chichiriviche is possibly the calmest one, without crowds of tourists and human habitation at all.

    The Margarita Island (Isla Margarita)

Made up of two islands, Margarita Island lies in the north of the Venezuela coastline. With a size of 934 km2, this pearl of the Caribbean is the largest island in Venezuela. Margarita Island boasts pristine sand beaches, and crystal waters and is a heaven for both beach and water sports lovers. Here you can unwind on one of the beaches or enjoy diving, jet skiing, windsurfing, and snorkeling. Margarita Island is also a great place for sightseeing, enjoying nightlife, and shopping. Whichever activities you choose, as you arrive on the Island, you can feel all your negative thoughts immediately vanish. This is more than a getaway, it is a natural wonder and paradise.
